There’s a temptation for people to play games after the first date. For example, they’ll avoid calling one another for many days to avoid looking desperate, or they’ll not go out immediately again so that they each look like they have active social lives.

Avoid that temptation. If you want to call, then call. Don’t over-think it or buy into the myth that you need to wait so many days before you call and set another date. The other person will appreciate your honesty and straightforward attitude. In turn, he or she will likely be honest and straightforward with you. And that’s the first step in developing a loving relationship!
